My Background

I am an 18-year-old girl, born in 2007, and part of a family of four, my father, mother, sister, and me. According to my parents and historical accounts, our ancestors were among those who arrived in Fiji from India aboard the Leonidas. Generations later, I was born and raised in Fiji, a country whose cultural diversity and vibrant traditions have shaped my identity.

I speak both English and Hindi fluently and take great pride in celebrating Indian festivals such as Diwali and Holi. Throughout the year, Hindu culture is marked by vibrant celebrations and delicious food. One of my favorites is ladoos, a traditional Indian sweet. I also enjoy celebrating I-Taukei festivals, including Easter and Christmas, which reflect the multicultural spirit of Fiji.

Apart from my cultural interests, I also enjoy embracing modern technology and entertainment. Whether it’s listening to pop music or watching movies in both English and Hindi, I find joy in a variety of genres. I’m a big fan of talent shows and comedy programs, which never fail to entertain me. Additionally, I have a taste for horror movies, appreciating the thrill and suspense they bring. These diverse interests help me stay connected to the world around me while enriching my personal experiences.

My Achievements

Throughout my school years, I have acquired various achievements. During my primary school journey, I consistently received awards for excellent academic performance. In addition to this, I was entrusted with leadership roles in Years 7 and 8, where I was awarded badges for serving as a senior prefect of the school.

My high school journey further strengthened this foundation. Over the past four years, I have received numerous academic and leadership awards. In Year 11, I was once again selected as a senior prefect, and in Year 12, I earned the position of Deputy Head Girl. I am currently serving as the Deputy Head Girl in Year 13. These roles continue to motivate me to strive for excellence and to grow in many aspects of my personal and academic life.

These leadership roles have helped me discover and develop important leadership qualities. During a recent leadership workshop, my fellow student leaders and I had the opportunity to learn more about effective leadership. It taught me valuable skills in managing school responsibilities and handling challenging situations. This experience has been instrumental in shaping my approach to leadership and self-improvement.

My Personal Interests

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, especially pop and Bollywood songs that help me relax and uplift my mood. I also enjoy watching movies, particularly comedies and horror films. When I want to engage in something more meaningful, I listen to podcasts. Currently, I enjoy following Dr. Trishla Chaturvedi, an astrologer who shares fascinating insights in her episodes. Besides this, I also scroll through social media to stay updated with trends and news.

I find peace in listening to meditative music and practicing therapeutic yoga exercises. Colouring mandalas is another calming activity I enjoy. From a young age, I’ve been a fan of drawing and painting. While I may not be a professional, I’d still consider myself a pretty good artist!. These activities help me relax. I also have a keen interest in swimming. I'm not a pro yet, but I think I could survive a shark attack!

Apart from these hobbies, I also help around the house. Baking is one of my specialties, though cooking full meals is still a work in progress. That said, I can whip up a simple dish for myself. Something a bit unusual, I actually enjoy water-blasting the pavements! It’s oddly satisfying and gives me a sense of accomplishment.
